International Yoga Day 2018

To celebrate International Yoga Day Dr. Udit Raj, Honorable MP and NDSWA and Art of Living hosted an event, supported by Ministry of Aayush GOI, DDA and Embassy of Russian Federation at Swarna Jayanti Park, Rohini. This initiative taken by Govt. of India and New Delhi Social Workers Association under ministry of Aayush is a step towards good health and harmony in India.
International Yoga is celebrated on June 21 and is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body; people across the world practice yoga in groups. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today joined over 50,000 yoga enthusiasts at the iconic British-era building of Forest Research Institute campus in Dehradun to celebrate the 4th Yoga Day.
The theme for Yoga Day 2018 was "Yoga for Peace and Harmonyâ€ť.
The venue for todayâ€™s program was Swarna Jayanti Park (Japanese Park), Rohini.
Entry was free and seating was on come first serve first basis. Goodies like t-shirts, mats and protocol books were distributed among people.
A yoga program was organised and people gathered in groups and performed various asana and pranayams. They were also made aware about the importance of the practice and how it helps in curing and healing. Before the beginning of the asana, people were briefed about the development in the field of health and how beneficial yoga is for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Prime Minister Narender Modiâ€™s speech was also showcased live on a screen so people can witness it from venue itself.
