The Emirates Business Class Experience

The Emirates Business Class Experience

Emirates offers the comforts of the latest and most efficient wide-body aircraft in the skies with the world’s biggest fleets of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. I recently had the chance to experience the Business class in Boeing 777-300ER on a flight from Dubai to Fort Lauderdale Florida and it put an end to my fear of long haul flights! Earlier whenever I travelled to USA from India it was with a break in journey in Europe, this gave me a couple of days between two medium duration flights (approx 8-9 hours each). This was the first time, I was inflight for 16 hours straight but with Emirates, it was all very comfortable and indulgent.

The experience began from being picked up from home in a chauffeur driven car. Emirates provides Complimentary Chauffeur drive service to the First class and Business class passengers. All you have to do is check this list and make a booking in advance. After priority check-in and immigration, I headed to unwind in the luxury lounge. Emirates has lounges in International airports across six continents, including the A380 hub in Dubai. The access is exclusive to customers flying in First Class or Business Class. An Emirates Skywards Gold member travelling in Economy Class, can also enjoy access to the Business Class Lounges around the globe and Silver members can enter the Business Class Lounges in Dubai. The Business Class lounge in Dubai offers gourmet cuisine, delicious beverages, and even a spa. After pampering myself, i headed to board the flight.

Onboard, I sunk into my spacious window seat and was welcomed with a hot towel, juice and champaign. The friendly and beaming hostess offered us the food and wine menu, and left us to settle down. There is a partition between the two seats, which provides privacy. There were numerous options for inflight entertainment latest and classic movies, television shows, documentaries, live TV etc- I was confused between a Big  Bang Theory marathon and Manchester by the Sea, Cafe Society and Jackie spoilt for choice! We were served two meals- dinner and breakfast. The menu was nicely curated and offered dishes like grilled lamp, Arabian mezze platter, Indian chicken rice and lentils, fish, prawns, cheese platter, cold cuts, continental breakfast etc, fresh breads, appetisers, desserts. Between the two meals there was a hot snack offering dishes like mac and cheese, sweets and savouries. The food truly is top notch and the service is like that of a fine diner. The wine and spirits list is expansive. I chose not to be woken up for breakfast, with the flat bed and a massager on my chair (yes a massager!), there was no way I could stay up! The best facility for me was the onboard wifi. I was facetiming with my family and friends, while cruising at a height of  32000 feet! The first two hours are complimentary and following that 500 MB of data for one USD. With all these fabulous services it was hard to feel the time or even miss my laptop! Who needs one when you have so much to do. Another highlight was that the cabin crew really makes sure the toilets are clean at all times. This is a major concern on long flights, but with Emirates,

it wasn't. I was impressed by the efficient and friendly crew.
