Three romantic travel ideas
Diamonds maybe a girl's best friend but if your girl is a traveller then she might just prefer a romantic holiday over jewels! Here are three destinations you can travel to this Valentine's day
Gamewatchers Safari: Porini Camps

Whether you wish to see the ‘Big Five’ or the ‘Big Cats’, the great wildebeest migration or a lovely bird watching safari, Porini camps can curate it all.
With stay options ranging from luxury boutique lodges to mobile tents, unlimited game drives (day and night), flexible meal timings, permission to go off road, expert guides along with immersive jungle lodging experiences complemented with sundowners and cocktails around campfires with delectable sit down dinners, it sure is going to be an unforgettable experience!
Head to the Swedish Lapland to witness the Northern lights, stay in a hotel made of ice!
Kiruna, a small mining town located smack center of the Aurora ova is home to Abisko National Park, Sweden’s highest mountain Kebnekaise and the ski resorts Björkliden and Riksgränsen. Not to mention ICEHOTEL in the small village Jukkasjärvi. It’s also a town on the move (yes, they’re moving an entire town) towards a sustainable future for its inhabitants.
The Northern Lights appear around the beginning of September ( in Kiruna) to around the end of March all over Swedish Lapland. But for the very best chance of seeing the Northern Lights you should make the trip to the Aurora Sky Station in Abisko National Park. It is not guaranteed that you will see them though, this is nature we are talking about and it is unpredictable.
A chairlift takes you up to the observation tower, as well as the station’s Northern Lights exhibition, café and souvenir shop. Do dress properly for your visit— It is fearsome cold and you should attire accordingly.
Surrounded by mountains, Abisko is known for its clear skies, so there’s a good chance of seeing this fantastic heavenly show.
The region is also a great place for winter activities such as skiing, dog sledding, snowmobile tours etc there’s a fair chance you will see them.
A great time in the rainbow nation
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to South Africa: for example, there is a beautiful coastline that stretches for about 3750 kilometres in total, and there are over 20 national parks to choose from (many of them offering the Big 5).
A South African holiday is as laid-back or active as you’d like it to be. You can go on a safari, indulge in adventure activities, enjoy a city break, relax by the beach or sample delicious food and wine. The breathtaking landscapes, awe-inspiring wildlife, and warmth of wonderful people, rich history and culture will come together to weave memories you would never forget.
There are the formidable and breathtakingly beautiful Drakensberg Mountains in KwaZulu-Natal – as well as the wild stretches of bushveld in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the North West provinces. The Free State offers big skies and homegrown hospitality and the Northern Cape's mesmerizing lunar landscapes offer a new way to interpret romance.
Whether you like the glamour of exploring the urban epicenters, heading out towards the bushveld, making your way through the mountains and valleys or just hanging out on the beach – South Africa is an ideal destination.
