A Runcation in Madhya Pradesh

The fourth edition of the “Khajuraho Heritage Run” was organised at Khajuraho on 27th February 2022 by Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Go Heritage Run



More than 300 participants were flagged off by Shri Yuvraj Padole, Deputy Director Events & Marketing, Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Shri Meerendra Rana, Regional Manager, Khajuraho, MPSTDC Hotels and Resorts. While the locals attended in heavy numbers, there were a fair bit of tourists as well

The Vision

Madhya Pradesh Tourism board aims to provide more activities to the tourists traveling to all the beautiful Heritage sites, and add a little bit of adventure and wellness to their itineraries. In this case, the people who travelled to attend the Khajuraho Dance Festival 2022 had this additional fun experience.

Go Heritage Run came as the perfect fit. Essentially an award-winning series of fun runs and half marathons organised across India at various heritage locations, all through the year, the runs are designed to be a vacation and a holistic experience.






The Experience

Picture kickstarting a marathon with a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the backdrop! The marathon started from outside the Western group of temples and the participants could opt for 5 km, 11 km or 21 km. Participants are encouraged to make pitstops and explore the town.

When is it happening next?

The next run is happening in Pench on 13th March 2022. Pench National Park and the Seonee Hills is the setting of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Click here to register. Make it a whole travel experience by doing jungle safaris and visiting these sites.
