It is not easy to believe that we are just a three hour drive away from the bustling capital. Replete with charm and warmth, The Lemon Tree in the historic city of Alwar an ideal destination for both the business and leisure traveller alike.
THE PROPERTY
Situated minutes away from Bala Quilla, the famous Alwar Fort, and the City Palace, a 17th century architectural marvel, Lemon Tree Alwar is the impeccable halt to discover the celebrated Forts and Palaces of Rajasthan. Another distinguished testament in its adjacent neighbourhood is the fabled spooky Bhangarh Fort (85 kms). I walk around the property and discover a conference room and board room and a well-equipped fitness centre. The hotel has forty rooms and suites that embody the charm of private retreats. Since I am with the family we have booked two well-appointed Executive suites which comes with a large living room. Delightfully sincere and courteous staff adds an advantage to the completely pleasant property.
DINING
The hotel has two dining options that includes a multi cuisine coffee shop ‘Circus Café’ that offers comfort style buffets for all meals. ‘Slounge’ a hip recreational bar is an ideal place to unwind and indulge in the hotel’s signature cocktails and some creative a la carte options. As for us we have booked the ‘Sky Lounge’ for a private BBQ and dinner. From Aloo Bedmi breakfasts to delicious Rajasthani fare we get fed to our stomach’s desire.
MOOD
You can fill your days playing indoor or outdoor games or simply chilling at the Citrus cafe. It is barely a 25-minute drive from Sariska Tiger Reserve and National Park, a sanctuary for wildlife aficionados, swarming with leopards, sambhar, chital, nilgai, four-horned antelope, wild boar, rhesus macaques, langur, hyena and jungle cats. We didn’t have too much time to explore, but I can see myself going back with a close gang, take over the property and see those walls reverberate with laughter, chatter, card games and late nights on the Sky lounge enjoying a BBQ again….this is a space that you can make what you want …. A home away from home! Our weekend at Lemon Tree Alwar amalgamates into a haze of long, tranquil days.
